This mark was created to fit my client's personality. We went through many interviews and discussions before I can finalize his mark. He had a mellow personality, very calm, loves the water and fire element, and the ocean. Sailing to sea and fishing is something he enjoys doing.
A personal mark made to suit my bubbly and bright personality. The simplicity of this design serves as an example of my style of designing.
Family Friend's Logo
A logo requested from a family friend. Their business saves placentas from mothers. Their concept was to have the tree of life and a baby incorporated together. Their business name is mum2bb.
Using the principles of a grid and layout, I developed a magazine spread about video games. The article was written by Daniel Raphael. All materials used in this layout were used for education purposes and practices only. I wanted the viewer to feel as if they are actually playing a video game when they see this magazine spread. The body text layout were suppose to represent the way texts in a video game would be laid out, a long paragraph, so I treated the article in a similar manner.
PUSH Workshop 2016: Thank You Poster
PUSH is an annual workshop where all the graphic design students come together and work on a project for a week. This year we had Keetra Dean Dixon come to RIT and guide us through a project. The theme was to take a random item and create as many experiments as we can with it. Afterwards, we took photographs of our experiments and manipulated them on Photoshop and Illustrator. The final stage was to allow other students to legally take other people's experiments and create a thank you card for the original artist. The piece I chose was by Carley Smith. I played with her piece a little and created something new without it changing too much.
U.S Currency Re-Design
This is re-design of the U.S Currency. This design is suppose to depict the order of how the United States expanded from the east to the west. The Lowest currency represents the start of the 13 colonies from the May Flower. The twenty bill shows Louis and Clark's expedition that lead to the Louisiana purchase. Lastly, manifest destiny, the rush to the west. The front design has all the expansion elements, while the back are places that are associated with the regions the front is referring to.
A series of café food pictograms. People often recognize pictures faster than reading words. These pictograms were made so people would easily find what they are looking for.
Letter Type Posters
Using different types, I created a dynamic image; each having its own concept.
The headache poster are letters that are all cluttered into one corner and starting to burst out into the open space. This represents someone who is experiencing an headache. A particular spot on their head is throbbing in pain. To them it feels like their head is going to explode.
The Obsessive Compulsive poster is suppose to cause tension and stress within the letters used. The Z's are all normal except for the only X in the pattern. In order to create more irritation to the viewer, I decided to tilt the X.
The & poster is suppose to represent scale by creating a variety of different sizes of only one symbol.
I found a quote that was relatable to myself and used the principle of typographic resonance imagery to a visual that furthers and represent the quote's meaning.
